Titan starting issues flickering lights
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Nissan Titan with a diesel engine was experiencing starting difficulties and flickering lights, suggesting a weak battery. Initial checks of the battery connections showed no issues, leading to speculation about a bad battery. However, a suggestion was made to consider a faulty battery sensor, which regulates charging voltage and can cause similar symptoms if malfunctioning. After a diagnostic check, it was confirmed that the battery sensor was indeed the problem, and replacing it resolved the issues.

Interesting, I haven't thought of the sensor. I just assumed it was the battery itself. How did you figure out it was the sensor and not just a dying battery? And what exactly does the battery sensor do anyway?

A diagnostic check at the workshop pointed to the sensor. The sensor regulates the charging voltage and sends information to the car's computer. When it fails, it can lead to undercharging or overcharging, eventually damaging the battery. Given your symptoms, I'd suggest getting a proper diagnostic. You will need to go to a workshop in any case to replace the sensor. In my case it was not very expensive. It's cheaper than replacing a perfectly good battery.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on it was the battery sensor. They replaced it, and the starting issues and flickering lights are gone. The whole repair, including the sensor and labor, cost me 315€. Much appreciated!

I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series. Symptoms were identical: weak starts and flickering lights. Turned out to be the battery sensor. Have you had the battery tested? A regular multimeter might not catch a faulty sensor; you might need a vehicle diagnostics check.
