Tourneo Bypass Valve Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Ford Tourneo diesel is experiencing a bypass valve malfunction, error in memory, and engine overheating. The issue may stem from other underlying problems such as coolant leaks, air intake issues, or a vacuum leak. After checking these potential causes and finding nothing, the vehicle was taken to a workshop where the bypass valve error was identified as being caused by another issue and was resolved without cost.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Thanks! I checked coolant and air intake, but found nothing. No stalling, and fuel efficiency is normal. Was the error memory also showing a bypass valve issue in your case?

No worries, happy to help. The error code wasn’t exactly the bypass valve, but related to the emissions system, which makes sense if the engine was running hotter. I just took it to a workshop. They found a small crack in a hose I'd missed. Maybe get it checked?

Thanks. I took it to a workshop, and the bypass valve error was from another problem. It was fixed at no cost. Thanks again!

Sounds like a headache. I had something similar with my old Opel Astra – petrol, not diesel. Weird errors and the engine was running hotter. Did you check for coolant leaks or air intake? Sometimes a vacuum leak can throw everything off. Any engine stalling or decrease in fuel efficiency?
