Tourneo Defrost Air Distribution Flap Fault

Hey, I'm having trouble with the defrost air distribution flap on my 2002 Ford Tourneo diesel (158887 km). The error memory shows a fault, and the heating isn't great. I'm thinking it might be a cable or plug issue. Any ideas before I take it further?

Summary of the thread

The issue with the 2002 Ford Tourneo involves a fault in the defrost air distribution flap, leading to poor heating performance. The initial suspicion was a problem with the cable or plug connection. Suggestions included checking the heater core for blockages and examining the blower motor resistor. Ultimately, the problem was identified as a defective connection, which was resolved at a workshop.

Have you checked the heater core? Blockages can cause similar issues, especially with that mileage. Also, take a look at the blower motor resistor.

Thanks! I hadn't thought about the heater core. How can I check it without taking everything apart? And what should I look for with the blower motor resistor?

You could try backflushing the heater core, but since you have an error code and suspect the wiring, focus there first. Might be time for a workshop visit.

Took it to a workshop, and it was a defective connection, like we thought. Cost 95€. Thanks for the help!
