Tourneo electronic parking brake failure

I know that frustration. I had a similar issue with my Tourneo. Electronic parking brake just gave up. Did you notice any unusual noises?

There was a faint whirring sound coming from the rear wheels before this started. Did you experience anything similar? Was it definitely the motor?

Yep, the whirring is exactly what I had! Sounds like the motor is struggling, then BANG, nothing. I didn't attempt repairs myself. Get it checked by a professional to be sure, but it sounds like the same problem.

It was the electric motor in the brake calliper. The final repair bill came to 505€. Thanks for your help, it made this less daunting.
