Good point! But, it was pretty frosty this morning, definitely below freezing. So, it should have kicked in, right? Is there some kind of sensor I should be looking for specifically that might be telling the system it's warmer than it actually is?

Indeed, considering the frosty conditions, the heating should have been active. While I cannot pinpoint a specific sensor without detailed schematics, the error code certainly suggests a fault within the mirror assembly itself, or its immediate wiring. Given the risk of further complications, consulting a qualified workshop might be the most prudent approach.

Appreciate the advice! Took it to a shop; turns out it was a loose connection, just like I suspected. 95€ later, and the mirrors are toasty again. Thanks!

It is certainly concerning that your mirror heating is not functioning, especially with winter driving conditions potentially impacting vehicle safety. Have you confirmed that the external temperature falls within the operational range required for the heating function to activate? Some systems deactivate below a certain temperature to prevent damage.
