Toyota CHR Cold Start Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Toyota CHR is experiencing poor engine performance and difficulty starting during cold conditions. The suspected cause is a faulty cold start injector, although the fuel rail pressure appears normal. It is suggested to perform an injector balance test or inspect the spray pattern to diagnose the issue further. Seeking professional diagnostics at a workshop is recommended to accurately identify and resolve the problem.

Thanks for the insight. I haven't done an injector balance test yet. Can you elaborate on how you performed the injector test on your CHR, and what specific symptoms did you observe?

I didn't do the injector test myself, to be honest. I took it to a trusted workshop after experiencing rough idling and poor acceleration during cold starts, much like you described. They confirmed it was a defective injector after running diagnostics. I'd recommend doing the same to be sure.

Understood. I appreciate the advice. I will take it to a local workshop for professional diagnostics. Seems like the most reliable way to pinpoint the problem. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

I had similar cold start issues with my Toyota CHR a while back, although it's an older model. Sounds like you're on the right track suspecting the injectors. Have you considered performing an injector balance test or inspecting the spray pattern? That might help pinpoint the defective injector.
