Toyota CHR Overvoltage Issue

The vehicle is no longer under warranty. I have inspected the main fuses and battery connections and found no visible corrosion or looseness. Given the multiple system failures, is it plausible that a defective car ECU could trigger such an overvoltage condition?

A defective car ECU causing overvoltage is possible, although less common than a battery issue. Given the complexity and the potential for further damage, I would strongly recommend taking your CHR to a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis. High voltage problems can be very dangerous.

I appreciate your advice. I have since taken the vehicle to a certified repair shop. The diagnosis confirmed a defective battery, which was subsequently replaced at a cost of 290€. This has resolved the overvoltage issue and associated system failures. Thank you again for your assistance.

That sounds like a serious electrical issue! Is the car still under warranty? Have you checked the main fuses and the battery connections for any obvious signs of corrosion or looseness? A power surge could also be a factor. I hope it's an easy fix!
