Summary of the thread
A 2009 Toyota iQ diesel has an issue with the electric steering column adjustment not functioning, with an error stored in the system. The problem is suspected to be a bad cable or plug. Thanks. Which specific fuses and relays are relevant to the electric steering column adjustment system? Where are they located? I'm not great with car mechanics, so be specific.

Sure. For me, it was fuse number 14 in the passenger compartment fuse box. Also check the relay for the power steering control module, usually in the engine compartment fuse box – check the diagram on the cover. Even if you find a blown fuse, get it checked professionally. Modern cars are like computers – a small electrical problem can cause headaches. Best to take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. I couldn't find the fault myself, so I went to a workshop. They found and fixed a defective plug connection. Total cost was 95€.

Hey, I had a similar issue with my old Vauxhall Corsa, though it was petrol. Same symptoms – error codes and a stuck steering column. It turned out to be a loose connection in the wiring harness. Did you check the fuses and relays before checking the connectors? Might save you hassle.
