Toyota iQ O2 Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Toyota iQ owner experienced a check engine light and increased fuel consumption, suspecting an O2 sensor issue. A suggestion was made to check the cable and plug connection to the O2 sensor, as a defective connection could cause these symptoms. The owner took the car to a workshop, where it was confirmed that the problem was indeed a defective connection, which was then repaired.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the plug connection located? And how would I check it? I'm not very experienced with car repairs.

It's near the catalytic converter, but honestly, if you're not familiar with it, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and check the sensor itself. Could save you some headaches.

Alright, thanks. I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was a defective connection on the O2 sensor. Repair cost me 95€ Thanks for the help!

I had a similar issue with my iQ. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the O2 sensor? A defective connection can cause those symptoms.
