Toyota Noah electric steering column fault

Hi, I've got a problem with my 2016 Toyota Noah, gasoline engine, with 115105 km on the clock. The electric steering column adjustment is defective. I get an error stored in the error memory, and the steering column can no longer be adjusted electrically. From what I've read, it seems like a cable or plug connection might be defective. Has anyone else experienced this?

Summary of the thread

The 2016 Toyota Noah has an issue with the electric steering column adjustment, which is no longer functioning and has stored an error in the memory. The problem was suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A suggestion was made to check the fuses, but ultimately, the issue was confirmed to be a defective connector, which was resolved by a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hello. I had a similar issue with my 2018 Opel Insignia. My symptoms were similar: electric steering column adjustment was not working and threw error codes. I wonder, did you check the fuses related to the steering system? A blown fuse can sometimes cause these issues, much like a tripped breaker in a house can cut off power to an entire room.

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't checked the fuses yet; that's a good point. I will check them as soon as possible. I didn't want to start disassembling things before having some guidance. Do you recall which fuse specifically caused the problem on your Insignia?

Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact fuse number. It was a while ago, and the workshop identified it during diagnostics. I recommend checking the fuse box diagram in your owner's manual. If the fuses are fine, it might be best to take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. They'll have the tools to pinpoint the exact cause, like a doctor using an X-ray to find a fracture.

Alright, thanks for the advice! It turns out it was indeed a defective connector as suspected. The workshop charged me 95€ to fix it. I appreciate the help!
