Trafic ABS Traction Problems

I'm having a real headache with my 2022 Renault Trafic diesel. It's got about 52856 km on the clock, and the ABS light keeps coming on. I'm also experiencing traction problems, which I'm guessing is linked to the ABS system failing. I haven't done anything yet except check the dashboard for any other warning lights. Has anyone else had similar issues? Could it be something simple?

Sounds like you've got a speed signal fault. Has the input to the transmission been checked? If the signal is bad, the ECM can't properly control the ABS and traction. I've seen similar things happen before.

Thanks for the quick response! When you say check the transmission input, are you talking about a sensor? Is it something I can easily check myself, or am I better off taking it to a mechanic?

Yeah, there's a sensor that reads the transmission speed. Honestly, with ABS issues, it's usually best to have a professional diagnose it. A faulty control unit is a common cause, and those can be tricky. I’d recommend taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – it was the ABS control unit. Cost me around 1000€ to get it sorted, but at least it's fixed now. Appreciate the help!
