Trafic Clutch Pedal Switch Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Renault Trafic is experiencing issues with the clutch pedal switch, leading to an error code, non-functional gear selection display, dead cruise control, and engine starting problems. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug, possibly due to a loose or corroded wiring harness near the clutch pedal. The suggested solution is to inspect and repair the wiring harness, which was confirmed by a workshop to be the clutch pedal switch connection, costing 95€ to fix.

Thanks, I appreciate the wiring harness tip. Can you give me more details about the wiring issue you had? Like where the corrosion was or what kind of connector was involved?

Honestly, I'm not super technical, but my local workshop pointed it out right away. They mentioned a common fault with the connector itself, something about it not being properly shielded. Best bet is to take it to a shop. They should be able to diagnose it quickly. It will be less of a headache!

Thanks for the guidance. I took it to a workshop, and it was the clutch pedal switch connection. The repair cost was 95€. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Sounds familiar! I had similar problems with my Trafic. The gear selector was all over the place, and the cruise control was dead. Check the wiring harness near the clutch pedal. Those things are notorious for getting loose or corroded. Has the starting problem been getting worse?
