Trafic diesel engine issues

My 2013 Renault Trafic diesel is giving me fits! Check engine light is on, power is way down, and the engine response is garbage. There's this whistling noise, almost a loud hissing when I accelerate. Sometimes it even stalls at idle, and my fuel consumption is through the roof! I'm thinking it might be the boost pressure actuator, maybe a defective electrical bypass valve. Anyone else had this happen?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my Trafic. Check the turbo actuator. It's a common problem, especially if you're hearing unusual noises and losing power. Could be a boost leak too.

Thanks! Was it a complete turbo failure, or just the actuator itself? How did you diagnose it properly?

In my case, it turned out to be the actuator valve. I went to a workshop and they found out after an inspection that the electrical bypass valve was defective. Better have it checked by a professional. Cost me about 250€ to get it sorted.

Appreciate the help! I'll get it to a shop ASAP and mention the actuator valve. Fingers crossed it's a simple fix and not a full turbo replacement. Thanks again!
