Trafic diesel engine issues
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Renault Trafic diesel is experiencing issues such as a check engine light, reduced power, poor engine response, a whistling noise during acceleration, stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. The potential causes include a faulty boost pressure actuator or a defective electrical bypass valve. A similar case was resolved by inspecting and replacing the actuator valve, suggesting a professional diagnosis to confirm the issue and avoid a full turbo replacement.

Thanks! Was it a complete turbo failure, or just the actuator itself? How did you diagnose it properly?

In my case, it turned out to be the actuator valve. I went to a workshop and they found out after an inspection that the electrical bypass valve was defective. Better have it checked by a professional. Cost me about 250€ to get it sorted.

Appreciate the help! I'll get it to a shop ASAP and mention the actuator valve. Fingers crossed it's a simple fix and not a full turbo replacement. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my Trafic. Check the turbo actuator. It's a common problem, especially if you're hearing unusual noises and losing power. Could be a boost leak too.
