Trafic engine fault diagnosis

My 2011 Renault Trafic diesel has a check engine light and mixture preparation error. It has done 201525 km. Engine power is reduced, it runs rough, jerks during acceleration, and occasionally stalls at idle. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Renault Trafic diesel is experiencing a check engine light, mixture preparation error, reduced engine power, rough running, jerking during acceleration, and occasional stalling. Possible causes include a faulty oxygen sensor, a dirty throttle body, or faulty injectors, which could disrupt the air-fuel mixture. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed to prevent further damage.

I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 308 (gasoline engine, though). Check engine light, rough idle, the whole shebang. Turned out to be a dodgy oxygen sensor messing with the air-fuel ratio. Is your Trafic blowing black smoke or anything like that? It could also be a dirty throttle body. Have you checked any of those things?

I haven't noticed any black smoke, but I will keep an eye out. The oxygen sensor and throttle body are good suggestions. I haven't checked them specifically, but I'm not sure where to begin. Could a faulty injection valve or injector be responsible for those symptoms?

Faulty injectors could definitely cause those problems, especially the stalling and rough running. A bad injector will mess up the fuel mixture, leaning it out or making it too rich. Given the mileage, it's quite possible. Honestly, with those symptoms and not knowing where to start, it might be best to get it checked by a professional before you end up causing more damage. Cost me 515€ for a replacement.

I appreciate your advice, I was afraid of that. It sounds like the best course of action is to take it to a workshop and have them diagnose the issue properly. Thanks again for your insights!
