Trafic engine overheating electric fan issue

My 2007 Renault Trafic diesel is overheating. The electric fan doesn't seem to be working. It has 204601 km on the odometer. I'm thinking it could be a bad cable or plug to the electric motor. Does that sound right?

A 2007 Renault Trafic diesel is experiencing engine overheating, with the electric fan not functioning. The suspected cause is a faulty cable or plug to the electric motor. After consulting with a mechanic, it was confirmed that the issue was a short in the electric fan cable, which was repaired.

Hey, I had a similar overheating problem with my Trafic not long ago. Did you check the fan clutch? That was my issue! Super annoying.

Could you tell me more about the fan clutch problem you had? What exactly happened, and how did you know that was the problem? I want to see if it's the same as what's happening with mine.

The overheating was super obvious, and the fan wasn't turning on when the engine got hot. I just took it to a shop; they figured it out fast. Saved me a lot of trouble!

Thanks for the advice. I decided to take it to a mechanic. The electric fan cable had a short. It cost 95€ to fix. Thanks again!
