Trafic Engine Stalling Power Loss

Hi, I'm experiencing an issue with my 2001 Renault Trafic, gasoline engine, with 216013 km on the clock. The check engine light is on. The engine stalls at idle, and there's a reduction in engine power when accelerating. I suspect it's a defective fuel volume regulator, possibly the high pressure pump. Anyone else run into this?

Oh man, that sounds familiar. I've got a Trafic too, and I had similar symptoms last year. Check engine light, rough idling, power loss... was a nightmare. Did you check the fuel injectors? Maybe a faulty sensor?

Thanks for the reply. I've visually inspected the fuel injectors, and they seem okay. I also checked some of the common sensors, but without specific error codes, it's difficult to pinpoint. Did your issue specifically involve the fuel volume regulator, or something else entirely? Any further details would be appreciated.

Yeah, it was the fuel volume regulator in the end. After chasing a bunch of possible causes, the workshop finally diagnosed it. Saved me a lot of headaches. I'd recommend getting it professionally checked out before throwing parts at it.

Thanks for confirming. I appreciate the insight. Turns out the high pressure pump was indeed defective, leading to a faulty fuel volume regulator. The repair set me back 1510€, but at least it's running smoothly now.
