Trafic immobilizer problem

Renault Trafic 2006 diesel, 48552 km. Engine won't start. Sometimes starts briefly then dies. Error memory shows immobilizer problem. Suspect key programming is off. Anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar. I have a Trafic too. Had something similar happen. Do you have 'anti-theft system' warning coming up too? That's what I had.

Yeah, anti-theft is showing. You think it's the key then? How did you fix it?

Most likely! Sounds like the key isn't being recognised sometimes. Mine ended up needing to get reprogrammed at the workshop. It's probably that. It's not a major job to check the programming.

Cheers. Workshop diagnosed key programming issue as you suggested. 45€ later and it's fixed.
