Trafic intake air temperature sensor issue

Thanks for the info. So, if the ECU is getting incorrect data from the sensor, could that explain the rough running and reduced power, or could it be something else entirely? Is there a way I can test the sensor without just replacing it?

Definitely, bad sensor data can mess with your engine's performance big time. The ECU probably goes into a kind of 'safe mode' when it detects the faulty reading, limiting power to protect the engine. Testing the sensor yourself might be tricky without the right tools. Honestly, for the cost of a new sensor and the potential for messing something else up, I'd just take it to a workshop. They can confirm the diagnosis and replace it properly. It is most likely the IAT sensor and you can get it changed. It cost me about 155€ incl. labour and the part.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I suspected as much. I'll book it in at the workshop to get it checked out and the sensor replaced. Hopefully, that sorts everything out. I will post the outcome.

Yep, sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, also a diesel. Check engine light, reduced power, the whole nine yards. The error code pointed to the same thing - intake air temperature sensor. That sensor tells the ECU (Engine Control Unit, the car's computer) how warm the air entering the engine is, and the ECU adjusts the fuel mixture and timing accordingly. If the sensor is faulty, the ECU gets bad data and messes things up.
