Trafic MOST Bus Fault

My 2012 Renault Trafic diesel has a MOST bus fault. The audio and navigation systems are dead. A diagnostic showed an error, confirming my suspicion of a MOST bus issue. At 223635 km, could a control unit on the MOST bus be defective? Any ideas? Or am I looking at around 1000€ repair costs?

I've seen similar problems. The MOST bus in these Renaults can be tricky. What did you use for the 'diagnostic assessment'? Knowing the specific error code might help pinpoint the problem module. Have you checked the audio and navigation system fuses? It's a long shot, but worth a look before digging deeper.

The diagnostic was done with a professional automotive tool. Sorry for leaving out the error code: it was "U1706". I've checked all the audio and navigation fuses, and they're fine. Does this help narrow down the potential cause of the MOST bus fault?

U1706 confirms a communication issue on the MOST bus. Since you've checked the fuses and know the code, it points to a faulty module. Without specialized tools and knowledge of the Trafic's MOST bus setup, you'll probably need a workshop visit. They can find the failing module and replace it. Sadly, 1000€ sounds about right.

Thanks for the help. Based on your advice and the diagnostic, I took it to a workshop. They found a faulty amplifier module within the MOST bus. It's been replaced, and everything's working now. Your help sped up the diagnosis and prevented unnecessary costs. Thanks again!
