Trafic Oxygen Sensor Heater Failure

I've got a 2015 Renault Trafic diesel with nearly 200,000 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and the error memory shows an oxygen sensor heater failure. Fuel consumption is also higher than usual. I've checked the sensor itself, and it seems fine, so I'm guessing it might be a dodgy cable or plug connection. Anyone else had this?

I had something similar with my Trafic. Is it affecting the air-fuel ratio, or just throwing the code? Could be a faulty sensor, but check the wiring first. That's what caused my malfunction indicator to light up.

Thanks for the reply. How did you pinpoint the wiring as the problem? Was it visibly damaged, or did you have to do some testing?

I didn't figure it out myself, I took it to a workshop. They found the cable was corroded. I'd suggest checking the voltage at the plug, but honestly, might be easier to just get a professional to diagnose it.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on - corroded connector on the heater element. They replaced it for 95€. Running smoothly now.
