Trafic radar sensor issue

Hey, I've got a 2012 Renault Trafic with a gasoline engine and I'm seeing some weird stuff. The radar sensor seems to be dead. I get an error message on the speedometer, and there's an error code stored. Seems to be also affecting other systems. Plus, there's a warning light constantly on. Anyone seen this before?

The symptoms you describe certainly point to a potential issue with the radar sensor system. However, before assuming a faulty sensor, it's crucial to examine the sensor's immediate environment. Has the vehicle been exposed to adverse weather conditions or environments that could result in a build-up of foreign matter on the sensor's surface?

Good point. I've been driving a lot in the rain recently. Is it really that simple? Where exactly is the sensor located, and is it something I can clean myself without messing anything up?

Indeed, environmental factors can significantly impact radar sensor performance. For your specific model, the radar sensor is typically located in the front bumper, either centrally or on one side. While cleaning the sensor might seem straightforward, I would urge caution, as improper handling can easily damage the sensor, or the mounting. The best course of action would be visiting a qualified workshop to diagnose this issue.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage, and it turned out you were right. The sensor was just dirty. They cleaned it and recalibrated everything for 45€. All good now!
