Trafic Rail Pressure Sensor Fault

My 2000 Renault Trafic diesel is throwing a fit. Check engine light is on, it stalls at idle, and power is way down. I'm getting a ‘rail pressure sensor signal faulty’ error. I’m guessing the pressure sensor itself is cactus, anyone else seen this before? This fuel injection system is driving me nuts!

I had similar symptoms on my old Peugeot 307. Check engine light, limp mode... turned out to be a faulty fuel rail pressure sensor as well. Is it difficult to replace on your Trafic?

Peugeot, eh? Okay, good to know I'm not alone. Replacing it looks straightforward enough, but I am not sure if I need to reprogram it with a diagnostic tool afterwards.

On my Peugeot, I didn't need to reprogram anything after swapping the sensor. Still, given your symptoms, and to be on the safe side, I'd get it checked by a local workshop.

Took it to a shop. You were spot on - rail pressure sensor! New sensor fitted and all sorted; cost me 240€, but at least she's running sweet again. Cheers for the help!
