Trafic Random Electrical Issues

I've got a 2013 Renault Trafic diesel, and lately, it's been acting up. Getting random 'Check System' messages, and sometimes the radio just dies or the sat nav goes bonkers. No real pattern, just seems totally random. Anyone else had similar weird electrical gremlins?

Sounds frustrating! I had something similar with my old Peugeot, though not exactly the same symptoms. Warning lights flashing for no reason, the infotainment system crashing. Did you hook it up to a scan tool to see if any error codes pop up?

Yeah, I did a scan, and it's showing some errors related to the BUS system, whatever that is. Could it be a dodgy connection somewhere? The errors are always intermittent, which makes it even more annoying!

The BUS system thing sounds familiar, that was my problem too! In the end, a mechanic told me the cable connections to the control unit were defective. I'd get it checked out professionally if I were you. It's probably a similar issue.

Thanks for the heads up! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – a faulty cable connection to the control unit. Cost me 155€ to sort out. At least it's fixed now!
