Trailblazer ABS Faults
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Chevy Trailblazer is experiencing rough shifting and a suspected transfer case issue, possibly linked to the ABS system. The problem may stem from a faulty ABS module sending incorrect data to the transmission control unit, causing the vehicle to enter limp mode. A professional scan confirmed the ABS-related faults, which were resolved without charge.

Not really, no warning lights or anything before the shifting got bad. Is there anything specific I should look for related to the ABS?

On the Subaru, the ABS module was faulty and sending bad data to the transmission control unit. This caused the torque converter to act erratically and forced the car into limp home mode to protect the drivetrain. Honestly, I'd get it scanned by a professional to confirm, but it might be related.

Thanks for the heads up. I had the codes read, and it pointed to consequential faults from the ABS like you said. Got it sorted; no charge. Appreciate the help!

Interesting. I had a similar issue on my old Subaru Outback, completely different car I know, but the symptoms sound familiar. Mine kept throwing powertrain malfunction errors and traction control lights. Was there anything else going on before it went into limp mode?
