Trailblazer automatic temperature control issue

I'm having a strange issue with my 2018 Chevrolet Trailblazer (diesel engine). The automatic temperature control has stopped working. I ran a scan and there's an error stored related to the interior temperature sensor. Oddly, the air conditioning system refuses to switch on now. Mileage is at 60389 km. I suspect it's a defective cable or plug connection.

That sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot 308. The temperature reading was all over the place, and the climate control went haywire. Did you check the HVAC sensor?
