Trailblazer Overheating Check Engine Light
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer diesel is experiencing overheating and a persistent check engine light, with coolant leakage suggesting excessive pressure in the cooling system. The issue is suspected to be related to a control unit communication error, possibly due to a software glitch, CAN bus issue, or connectivity problem. A similar case was resolved by addressing a defective cable connection to the control unit, which was confirmed and fixed at a workshop, resolving the problem.

Thanks! Which control unit was it specifically? And what exactly was wrong with the connection – was it loose, corroded, or something else?

I didn't check myself but it was indeed a defective connection. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop before you cause any further damage.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a defective cable connection to the control unit, just like you said. They replaced it, and it cost me about 95€. Appreciate the help!

I had something similar happen with my Trailblazer. Overheating and the check engine light were on constantly. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the control unit? That was my problem.
