Trailblazer Overheating Speed Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was experiencing overheating and a check engine light, with the radiator fan not operating. The initial suspicion was a defective speed sensor. After consulting with others who had similar issues, it was confirmed that the speed sensor was indeed the problem, causing the fan to stop working. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue.

Interesting. No weird fan noise, just nothing. Did the sensor issue on your Megane cause the fan to stop completely, or was it intermittent?

It was completely dead. Replacing the sensor fixed it instantly. Although your issue might be different, I'd suggest getting it checked by a mechanic. Could save you a lot of headaches!

Thanks for the insight. Took it to the shop, and it was indeed a defective speed sensor causing the fan to not run. Repair cost was 250€. All good now!

Had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane. Overheating and the check engine light were driving me nuts! Turned out to be a faulty sensor messing with the fan's operation. Is the fan making any weird noises?
