Trailblazer power tailgate malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer owner is experiencing issues with the power tailgate, which doesn't open completely and stores an error in the memory. The suspected cause is a faulty hall sensor or its wiring. Another individual with a similar problem found that the issue was due to defective sensor wiring, which was resolved at a workshop. The suggested solution is to inspect the wiring and potentially seek professional repair.

Thanks for the reply! It tries to open but stops halfway. Did yours do the same? And how did you pinpoint the sensor wiring as the culprit?

Yep, mine was stopping midway too. I didn't pinpoint it myself – took it to a workshop. They said the cable or plug connection of the sensor was defective. Cost me about 95€ to get it sorted.

OK, great to know. Sounds like I'm on the right track. I'll check the wiring first, but I will probably end up taking it to the shop as well. Thanks for the help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Trailblazer's tailgate. It turned out to be a sensor wiring issue. Does the tailgate try to open at all, or is it completely dead?
