Trajet Transmission Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Hyundai Trajet experienced transmission issues, indicated by the engine and transmission lights, and an error related to the transmission oil pressure sensor. The vehicle exhibited symptoms such as gear slipping, rough shifting, and grinding noises. The core problem was identified as low gearbox oil, which can cause these issues, and a faulty pressure sensor. The solution involved taking the car to a workshop for an oil change and sensor replacement, resolving the transmission problems.

Yes, it is! Limping along is more like it. Where exactly is the pressure switch located, and is it difficult to check the oil level myself? Never done it before.

Confirming my suspicions here: if it's in emergency mode, low oil level very well could be the problem. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. It's safer and they'll be able to diagnose it properly, maybe it's indeed that faulty pressure switch.

Thanks! I've taken it to a local workshop. They confirmed it was low on oil and said the pressure sensor was faulty because of it. They sorted everything out: new sensor, oil change, cost me 365€. Shifts smoothly now!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Trajet. Check your gearbox oil level first. A faulty pressure switch could also be the culprit. Is the gearbox in emergency mode too?
