Transit AdBlue Issue No Start

I'm having trouble with my 2018 Ford Transit diesel, at 89412 km. The AdBlue tank seems empty, triggering a speedometer error. There's also an error stored. The engine won't start. I suspect a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit, with repair costs estimated around 250€. I need this fixed soon due to emission standards. Any thoughts? I briefly saw a DEF fluid level low warning before this.

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Ford Transit diesel experienced a no-start issue due to an empty AdBlue tank, triggering a speedometer error and storing an error code. The problem was suspected to be a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. After refilling the tank and confirming the DEF fluid was new, it was determined that the issue likely involved a faulty pump or sensor, necessitating a workshop visit. The workshop confirmed the defect in the AdBlue output, and the part is being replaced.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds rough. I had a similar AdBlue issue on my Transit. The dashboard alert wouldn't go away. First, make absolutely sure the tank is actually empty. Stranger things have happened. Also, how old is your DEF fluid? Has it been sitting?

Thanks. The tank is genuinely empty. I refilled it and it took the appropriate amount. The DEF fluid is relatively new, bought a month ago, so I don't think that's it. Any insight?

Okay, if you've refilled the AdBlue and the warning lights and no-start persist, it sounds like the output from the tank to the dosing unit. Sadly, you might need a shop visit. I looked up how the emissions control works, but you might not be able to DIY this. A faulty pump or sensor could be at fault. I would confirm first.

Appreciate the confirmation. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. The AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit was indeed defective, like I suspected. They're replacing the part. Thanks!
