Thanks for the reply. I haven't checked the switch physically yet, but I haven't touched anything around that area recently. Is there a common failure mode for these switches that I should be looking for?

Indeed. A common failure mode for brake light switches involves contact degradation within the switch mechanism, leading to intermittent or complete signal loss. Given your description and the absence of recent user error, it remains highly probable that the switch is the source of the issue. While replacement is generally straightforward, it is advisable to consult a qualified technician to confirm the diagnosis and ensure proper installation. Erroneous installation may lead to subsequent malfunctions, potentially impacting vehicle safety.

Alright, appreciate the detailed advice. I took it in, and you were spot on. Turns out the switch was just loose and needed a little adjustment. No parts needed, so cost me nothing!

Greetings. Based on the symptoms you've described – the error memory storage, brake light malfunction, and infotainment system error – a faulty brake light switch does appear to be a plausible diagnosis. Have you, by any chance, already performed a preliminary visual inspection of the brake light switch itself, as well as the associated wiring harness and connector, for any signs of physical damage, corrosion, or loose connections? Furthermore, is there any possibility of recent user error, such as accidental dislodgement or manipulation of the switch?
