Transit Engine Stalling at Idle

Hi, I have a 2009 Ford Transit with a gasoline engine. Recently, the check engine light came on and the engine stalls at idle sometimes. After some research, I suspect it might be a tank ventilation valve malfunction, possibly due to clogged hoses. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Sounds familiar. Had something like that happen with my old Opel Astra, also due to a faulty purge valve in the EVAP system. Could be clogged hoses as you suspect. Have you checked for any obvious cracks or kinks in the hoses?

Thanks for the input! I visually inspected them, but didn't find anything obvious. Was the problem on your Opel immediately clear when you found it or what were the steps you took?

Nah, it wasn't immediately obvious. Just a hunch after some reading online. Given your symptoms, and the fact that you've already checked the hoses visually, might be time to get it properly diagnosed at a workshop.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop and it was indeed the tank ventilation valve and some clogged hoses. Repair cost me 175€. All good now!
