Thanks for the reply. No, I haven't checked the transponder specifically. Is there a way to test that without special equipment? Or is it something I should just leave to a professional?

Given the potential for specialized equipment being required and the intricacies involved with immobilizer systems, professional diagnosis at a workshop would be prudent to ascertain the issue.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Took it to a local shop, and it turned out the key needed reprogramming. Cost me 45€, and it's sorted now!

The symptoms you describe (engine failing to start, brief operation followed by stalling, stored error code) align with a potential immobilizer malfunction. Incorrect key programming is a plausible cause. Has the key's transponder been checked?
