Transit Oxygen Sensor Heater Failure

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't yet been able to properly check the connectors, but I wiggled a bit on the plug for the first sensor before the cat converter. The error is still present. Is it possible the sensor is broken?

Yeah, it's definitely possible the sensor itself has failed, especially at that mileage. Although electrical issues are common, the heater element inside the sensor can burn out over time. Given the symptoms and your initial findings, I'd suggest getting it checked by a mechanic if you are not skilled at automotive repair. A faulty O2 sensor can definitely impact fuel economy and vehicle emissions.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – the oxygen sensor was indeed faulty. New sensor plus labor cost me 95€. All errors are gone now.

Hey! O2 sensor issues are a pain. The heater element helps the sensor get up to operating temperature quickly, especially during cold starts. Since you mention a possible cable issue, have you checked the wiring and connector for any corrosion or damage? Also, which O2 sensor is throwing the code? There are usually multiple.
