Transit radar sensor malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Ford Transit experienced a radar sensor malfunction, indicated by an error message and warning light on the speedometer. The issue was suspected to be due to a dirty or obstructed sensor, which was confirmed after cleaning the sensor resolved the problem. The sensor is typically located behind the front bumper, and accessing it might require removing part of the bumper.

The error code points directly to the radar sensor. I haven't checked if it's dirty, but I can do that. Where exactly is the sensor located on the Transit? Is it easy to access?

Okay, if the code definitely points to the radar sensor, fair enough. It's often behind the front bumper, somewhere central. Access can be a pain, you might need to remove part of the bumper. Honestly, unless you're comfortable fiddling, it might be worth a quick visit to a workshop. They can at least confirm the sensor's condition and check the wiring properly.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out, it was just a dirty sensor. Cleaned it, and everything is working fine again. Cost me 45€ for the cleaning. Appreciate the help!

Hmm, a radar sensor issue on a Transit that old is a bit unusual. Are you sure it's the radar sensor specifically? What exactly does the error code say? And are you sure the sensor itself isn't just dirty or obstructed? Has the van had any front-end work recently?
