Transit transmission issues

Having a weird issue with my 2005 Ford Transit gasoline, only 28438 km on it. Radiator oil pressure seems defective, and the transmission indicator light keeps popping on with the check engine light. When this happens, the automatic transmission goes into emergency mode, doesn't shift right, slips, and makes horrible grinding noises. I checked the error memory, and there's a code stored. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause all this?

Wow, that sounds familiar! I have a Transit too, and I had similar issues with the transmission going haywire. Does it feel like it's stuck in one gear sometimes? I'd also check for any coolant leaks around the radiator, maybe even get a pressure gauge on it to see what's going on. Is your car overheating?

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, it feels totally stuck sometimes. Coolant level seems okay, but I haven't specifically looked for leaks. Where exactly did you find the coolant leak in your car? And where did you put the pressure gauge?

Okay, so it really does sound like what happened to me. If your coolant level looks fine, it might be a really small leak that's hard to spot. But honestly? Before you spend too much time digging around, I'd take it to a workshop. My problem ended up being a faulty connection, just like you suspected. Best to get it diagnosed properly.

Thanks a lot! Turns out you were right, it was a defective cable connection, after I went to the mechanic they fixed it right away. Cost me 95€. Appreciate the advice!
