Hey, thanks for your quick reply and advice! I will definitely take it to the workshop. I just hope the repair won't be too expensive. Do you remember how much it cost you to have the torque converter replaced? And did anything else happen afterwards, or was everything okay with your Yaris again? Thank you!

Hey, sure, no problem! Well, my automatic transmission converter was defective and it cost me €2120 to replace it. That was quite a chunk of change, I have to say. But since I had it fixed in the garage, the malfunction of the torque converter lock-up clutch is history and my Yaris now drives like a king. So there was nothing more to it, everything has been fine since then! I hope your Aygo will be the same. Keep your fingers crossed and keep us up to date!

Hello, wow, that's a considerable sum. But I think it's worth the price for the safety. I just hope it won't be just as expensive for my Aygo. But thanks for the info and support! It definitely helps to know what to expect from my side. I will definitely keep everyone updated. Thanks again!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Toyota Yaris a few months ago. My automatic transmission converter was actually defective. There were also problems with shifting, a grinding noise and an ever-increasing whine from the gearbox. After I took it to the garage, the torque converter had to be replaced. This was certainly a serious matter, as driving with a faulty torque converter can cause serious damage to your car in the long run. I recommend you take your car to a trustworthy garage as soon as possible. The guys at my garage were very competent and the problem was solved quickly. It wasn't fun, but at least my Yaris is now running smoothly again. Good luck with your Aygo!
