Hey, thanks for your reply. It seems like we went through the same thing. Can you maybe remember how much you paid for the repairs? And since the repair, has anything else come up with your transmission or is everything running smoothly? Would really appreciate an update!

Hey, no problem at all, always happy to help! After my appointment with the mechanic, the fault with the transmission oil pressure was rectified. Since then my gearbox has been running like clockwork, no more strange shifting or slipping, really pleasant. As far as the costs are concerned, the defective cable/plug on the sensor cost around €155. It's not free, of course, but since then the car has really driven like new. Go for it, it's worth it!

Hey, great, thanks for the info! It sounds like your visit to the mechanic was really successful. The cost seems reasonable too. I will definitely visit a good mechanic and have it checked out. It's reassuring to hear that your car is running smoothly again after the repair. So, I'm off to the garage now. Wish me luck. Cheers!

Hey, has the car ever had the transmission oil changed?

Hey, I drive a 2010 BMW 3 Series and once had a very similar problem. In my case it was also the gearbox, I also had grinding noises and the shifting was really strange. I then had to park my car in the garage and the mechanic told me that the gearbox oil should be changed and that there were a few other problems too. Turns out it was a pretty serious problem, so get a good mechanic recommended and ask him to check the transmission thoroughly. Hope that helps!
