Do you recall the specific location of the faulty sensor you encountered? I wish to examine the relevant connections more closely to ascertain their integrity and eliminate any potential points of failure. Did the sensor failure you experienced trigger any specific diagnostic trouble codes?

Nah, I didn't get down and dirty myself. My 'expertise' peaks at changing a tire, haha! Took it straight to a shop. But honestly, from the sound of it – and since you’ve already seen a possible cause – I'd still suggest hitting up a reputable mechanic. Airbags are serious business; you don't want to mess around and have them deploy at the wrong time... or not deploy when you need them!

I consulted with a qualified technician. It was indeed a defective connector within the airbag system, as initially suspected. The repair cost amounted to 95€.

Whoa, airbag light is never good! Had that happen on my old ride after a minor fender-bender (airbags didn't even deploy). Turned out to be a faulty sensor. Was a pain to diagnose. You said 'cable or plug' - did you check all the connections you could see under the seats? They can get kicked and loosened pretty easily. Just a thought!
