Traverse electrical issues
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is experiencing electrical issues, including error messages and a non-functional navigation system. The error memory indicates a problem with the control unit and implausible programming. A suggested solution is to have a professional recalibrate or refresh the software of the control module, as this could resolve the glitches without risking further complications.

Recalibration? How involved is that? I've seen videos about onboard diagnostics, but I'm worried about messing something up worse. Is it something I can do myself, or am I better off taking it in?

Yeah, the recalibration can be tricky. Think of it like trying to defrag a computer from the 90s – you can do it, but one wrong move and it's toast. Based on the error memory pointing to the control unit, and your mileage(183368 km), I'd lean towards a software refresh needed on the control module. Given the cost is around 240€, honestly, save yourself the potential headache and take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and perform the refresh. Better safe than sorry, especially with all those electronic bits.

Thanks for the advice! I was hoping to avoid the shop, but you're probably right. I'll book an appointment and see what they say about a software refresh. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I've got a Traverse too (though not a '22) and had something similar happen. All sorts of electrical gremlins. It was like my car had a mind of its own, like a toddler playing with the settings. Did you try checking the onboard diagnostics or seeing if a recalibration of the control module helps at all?
