Trax Brake Lights and Error Messages

Got a weird one with my 2014 Chevy Trax, gasoline engine. Brake lights decided to take a vacation, and the error memory's throwing a fit. Plus, the infotainment system is chiming in with an error message I can't seem to clear. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Chevy Trax owner experienced issues with non-functioning brake lights and persistent error messages. The problem was identified as a loose brake light switch located near the brake pedal. After securing the switch, the brake lights and error messages were resolved, restoring normal function.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had something similar happen on my Trax. Did you check the brake light switch by the pedal? That was my problem.

The brake light switch, huh? Where exactly is that located, and how would I even begin to check it?

Yep, it's right by the brake pedal. It's a bit fiddly to get to. Honestly, if you're not comfortable poking around there, I'd suggest swinging by a workshop. They can diagnose it properly without causing more issues.

Okay, I took your advice and checked the switch. Turns out, it was just a bit loose. Snapped it back in, and everything is working fine now. No more errors! Thanks for the pointer.
