Trax fault memory lock active
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Chevrolet Trax diesel with approximately 195,471 km displayed a "fault memory lock active" message, indicating an error stored in the error memory. The issue was linked to undervoltage, likely caused by a battery problem, which affected the control unit. The suggested solution was to have the vehicle checked at a workshop to diagnose and clear the fault codes, which resolved the issue.

That's interesting! Actually, now that you mention it, the car has been a little sluggish starting up lately. Could it really be just a battery issue causing that fault memory thing?

Yep, undervoltage was the culprit in my case. The control unit throws a fit when it doesn't get enough juice. I'd get it checked out at a workshop; they can properly diagnose it and clear the fault codes. Might save you a headache!

Thanks so much for the tip! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – it was undervoltage! They sorted it out, cleared the fault codes, and the total came to about 240€. Seriously appreciate the help; you saved me a ton of stress!

I had a similar issue with my Trax a while back. Does it seem like it's related to the battery at all? Like, have you noticed any slow starts or anything like that?
