Troubleshooting 2020 Renault Arkana's AC Issues: Identifying and Fixing Faulty Interior Temperature Sensor

Hey folks, I'm having a bit of an issue with my 2020 Renault Arkana with a Gasoline engine where the AC seems to be blowing hot air, lacks proper heating/cooling, and isn't even engaging at times. I have a hunch that it might be due to an error with the interior temperature sensor signal, but I'm hoping some of you who might have encountered similar issues could help me out. Any specific pointers on how to troubleshoot this would be much appreciated. And for those who've had to take it to the workshop, could you please share what they had to do to fix it? Cheers!

Hey there, I recently had a similar issue with my 2018 Renault Kadjar. I'm not a car expert by any means, but I do have some basic knowledge. I took it to a local shop and it turned out there was a problem with the sensor cable connection. Ended up causing the AC to behave erratically just like yours. Had to drop about 110 euro to get it fixed, but it's been smooth sailing since then. Can you tell me a bit about your mileage and any service history? It'd help to assess whether it might be the same problem. In any case, might be worthwhile to have a mechanic check it out. Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience, that seems to shed some light on my troubles. Regarding the mileage, I've driven my Arkana for 56467 km up till now. The recent service was just a couple of months back and everything seemed fine then; no issues had been reported about the AC. The sensor cable connection issue you mentioned might be a possibility in my case. I guess I should have it inspected. Hoping it won't incur too much cost! Cheers!

Hey there, Glad to be of help! With the mileage you mentioned and your recent service history, it does seem like you might be onto something similar to my experience. The sensor cable might indeed be the crux of the problem. But of course, cars can sometimes be a mystery, too. So don't take my word for gospel. If you already have a trustworthy mechanic, I'd suggest taking it to them for a check-up. They can diagnose if there's any issue with the AC system and advise you on the cost. Fingers crossed, it's nothing too serious and can be fixed up on the cheaper side! Keep us posted on what happens, it would be interesting to know. Drive safe! Cheers!

Hello again! Your insight has been super helpful, really appreciate it! I'll definitely take your advice on board and get the car checked out by a professional soon. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the issue will be manageable and hopefully not too pricey to fix. I most certainly will keep you all in the loop, hopefully, my experience might help someone else down the line too. Thanks for the well wishes, drive safe as well! Cheers!
