Troubleshooting Call Answering Issue with 2015 Lexus IS Hybrid's Hands-Free Microphone System
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Lexus IS Hybrid owner is experiencing an issue with the hands-free microphone system, preventing them from answering calls. The problem might be due to a glitch in the system. A suggested solution was to reset the system by disconnecting the car battery for 10 to 15 minutes, but this did not resolve the issue. The next step is to take the car to a workshop for further diagnosis and repair.

Howdy! I appreciate your inputs and advice. For sure I hope it's not the same issue you had. My Lexus IS has got about 17483 KM on it since my last service. It's really weird that this issue popped up because it seemed fine up until recently. Didn't face any similar issue or anything prior. But I'll investigate further and, worst comes to worst, bring it to a local workshop on your suggestion. Cheers!

Hey there! Yeah, it does sound like you've got a perplexing issue there. Considering your mileage, I wouldn’t expect this sort of thing to just crop up out of nowhere. From my experience, sometimes a simple system reset might do the trick. You know, just disconnect your car battery for around 10 to 15 minutes, then reconnect it to reset the system. But hey, if it still persists, I'd absolutely recommend taking it to that local workshop. They have a way of figuring these things out, even if it might mean lighter pockets (ouch!). Anyway, keep us posted with any developments. Would be interesting to know what's causing this. Good luck!

Hey again! So I tried the system reset trick you suggested - definitely a simpler and cheaper solution to try before rushing it off to the workshop. Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Appreciate the help though! Looks like it's workshop time for my Lexus. If it turns out to be the same as your issue, I guess lucky for me it's not 815 Euro, right? I'll drop an update soon. Thanks for taking the time to help out. Cheers!

Hey, sounds like you've got a similar problem to what hit my 2013 Lexus GS Hybrid. I'm not a car whiz, but I've got some experience tinkering with stuff. My Infotainment system was on the fritz too and I ended up taking it to my local workshop. They had to basically replace the entire system to sort it out, for a hefty 815€. Not fun, but it did the trick. Could you give a bit more info about your vehicle and your issue? It'll help me (and everyone else) get you sorted!
