Tucson cylinder pressure fluctuation
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Hyundai Tucson diesel with nearly 200,000 km is experiencing a check engine light, increased fuel consumption, and reduced power, potentially due to cylinder pressure fluctuation. A suggestion was made to check for engine knocking or issues with the timing belt, as these could affect cylinder pressure. The problem was identified as a consequential error, which was resolved under warranty at a workshop.

Engine knocking? No, I haven't noticed anything like that. The timing belt was replaced not long ago, but could that really cause cylinder pressure to fluctuate? Is it a consequential error?

Yeah, it's worth checking out. I'm no expert, but my mechanic told me a bad timing belt can mess with all sorts of things. Best to get it checked properly at a workshop.

I took it to the shop, and turns out it was a consequential error, but it was all covered under warranty, so it didn't cost anything! Thanks for the advice!

I had similar symptoms with my Tucson. Higher fuel consumption and less engine power, does it sound familiar? Have you checked for engine knocking or maybe the timing belt?
