Tucson Defrost Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Hyundai Tucson owner is experiencing a defrost issue, with an error indicating a faulty air distribution flap and reduced heating output, leading to windshield fogging. The owner suspects a problem with a cable or plug connection around the HVAC unit. After checking fuses and accessible connections, the suggestion is to either dismantle the dashboard for further inspection or take the vehicle to a workshop for professional repair. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by fixing a defective cable, costing 95€.

Good question. The error is pretty specific about the defrost flap. As for wiggling, I've given the accessible connections a bit of a nudge, but I haven't started pulling the whole dashboard apart yet. Is that what you had to do with your Megane?

Yeah, the Megane issue was a pain. Turned out to be a corroded connector buried deep. Honestly, if the error is that specific and you've checked the easy stuff, it might be worth biting the bullet and taking it to a workshop. Saved me a lot of headache in the long run.

Okay, thanks for the advice. Sounds like I'm not going to get away without some serious dismantling or a trip to the shop. I appreciate the input! I got it fixed. The cable was defect and the whole repair cost 95€

Sounds familiar. I had a similar air distribution issue with my old Renault Megane a while back. Was the error code specific to the defrost flap, or just a general air distribution fault? Did you try wiggling any of the connections to see if it made a difference?
