Tucson diesel power loss and rough idling
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai Tucson diesel is experiencing power loss, rough idling, increased fuel consumption, and poor engine response. The issue may be linked to a faulty fuel filter heater, specifically a defective cable or plug connection. Checking and repairing these connections can resolve the problem, as confirmed by another owner with a similar experience.

Thanks for the quick response! You mentioned checking the connections... any idea where I should be looking specifically? Are there any telltale signs of a bad connection?

Well, I had a similar experience, and it turned out to be a defective cable/plug connection in the fuel filter heater circuit. It's worth inspecting, but I'd recommend taking it to a workshop if you're not confident. They diagnosed mine pretty quickly. It cost me around 95€ to have it fixed.

Appreciate the advice! I'll check the connections, but probably best to take it in. I can confirm that the issue was indeed the cable/plug connection of the fuel filter heater and was fixed at the cost suggested.

I also have a Tucson diesel, though a slightly different year. Your symptoms sound awfully familiar. Power loss, poor engine response... it's frustrating, isn't it? Have you checked the fuel filter heater's connections? It might be a simple fix.
