Tucson Low Brake Fluid Spongy Pedal
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai Tucson owner reported low brake fluid and a spongy brake pedal. A similar experience was shared, suggesting that worn brake pads could cause the fluid level to drop as the system compensates. The recommendation was to get a brake inspection to ensure safety, as worn brakes were identified as a likely cause.

No warning lights, but the pedal thing is weird. How quickly did your fluid drop, and what did it feel like?

Mine dropped noticeably over a few weeks. The pedal felt spongy, like I had to press it further than usual. It's worth getting a brake inspection just to be sure. I ended up going to the workshop. Better safe than sorry with brakes!

Thanks! I'll take your advice and get the brakes checked out. Seems like worn brakes were the likely culprit; the fluid replacement and brake job cost me 480€.

I had a similar issue with my Tucson. Check your brake pads – if they're worn, it can cause the fluid level to drop as the system compensates. Any warning lights on?
