Tundra Airbag Warning Light
Summary of the thread
The airbag warning light on a 2005 Toyota Tundra was constantly illuminated, suggesting a potential issue with the airbag system. The initial suspicion was a defective cable or plug connection. Advice was given to check the crash sensors and wiring harness, particularly under the driver's seat. Ultimately, a mechanic confirmed a defective plug connection as the cause, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the quick response. The airbag light is always on, it doesn't flicker at all. Which crash sensors are you referring to, and where can I locate the mentioned wiring harness?

Okay, constant light is less likely to be a loose connection, but still worth checking. The crash sensors are usually in the front near the radiator and behind the front bumper. The harness I mentioned is routed under the driver's seat. Given the constant light and your mileage, a proper diagnostic with an OBD scanner might be best before you start tearing things apart. It could be a deeper issue, and then you'll have to visit the workshop anyway.

Thank you for the advice. I took it to a mechanic, and indeed, there was a defective plug connection which caused the airbag system failure. They located the problem, fixed it, and the airbag light went out. The repair cost was 95€, much appreciated!

I had a similar issue with my Tundra. The airbag light was on constantly. Before you dive too deep, check the crash sensors and the wiring harness. I recall something about a faulty connector under the seat. Is the light always on, or does it flicker at all?
