Tundra Hybrid Reduced Engine Power
Summary of the thread
The 2022 Toyota Tundra hybrid is experiencing reduced engine power, difficulty starting, weak and flickering lights, and a warning light, with an error stored. These symptoms suggest a potential issue with the charging system, possibly due to a faulty generator or alternator. Checking the charging system voltage and inspecting the serpentine belt for wear are recommended steps. The workshop diagnosed a defective generator, and replacing it is expected to resolve the problem.

Thanks. Could an engine misfire be related, or is that a separate issue?

A misfire could cause similar symptoms, but the weak lights and starting problems make the charging system more likely. If you're not sure, get the generator checked at a workshop.

Thanks for the advice. The workshop diagnosed a defective generator and quoted 960€ for replacement. Seems like that'll fix it.

I had similar issues with my Tundra. Have you checked the charging system voltage? A big voltage drop could mean a faulty alternator. Also, check the serpentine belt for wear, since it drives the alternator.
